HARSENSISLAND.COM SPONSORS DISTRICT 8 TEAM
The District 8 Trap Shooting league is a culmination of 10 local sportsmen
clubs, in which members participate in league shoots every other Sunday
throughout the summer. Perch
Point Conservation Club has 7 teams (4) Adult Teams - men and women
(1) Junior Team 14 - 18 and (2) Sub-Junior Teams 14 and under. Our team
represents Perch Point as a sub-junior team. All participants have or
will have completed hunter saftey requirements and are members of Perch
Point. This team consists of the following Harsens Island Kids:
Team Captain - Zach Marlow
Team Captain, Zach is a returning veteran, having participated in the
District 8 League last year with exceptional success. We are looking for
big things from Zach this year.
Dylan Dupage - 6th Grade - First District 8 Season
Carson Marlow - 5th Grade - First District 8 Season
Billy Tackonis - 4th Grade - First District 8 Season
Sammy Zaidan - 4th Grade - First District 8 Season
Billy Tackonis and Sammy Zaidan are the youngest members of the team and
had great scores at yesterday's 1st league shoot. Dylan and Carson also
did really well at the 1st shoot and Zach was in good form. Despite bitter
temperatures and wind conditions everyone did really well. We anticipate
they will all do well throughout this season. The next District 8 Trap
league shoot will take place April 18th at SEMCC on Belle River Road.
Harsensisland.com wishes you all
the best success this season.

UPDATE ON SWAN SHOOTING
On 2/23 (story archived below), we had
a report of hunters shooting a swan in the South Channel down by the 5100
block of Green Drive, in Canadian waters. Over the last few weeks we have
made several attempts to contact Canadian Officals regarding the shooting
and we finally received correspondence from Stan K.C. Chow, Inspector,
Canadian Wildlife Enforcement Divison, who states that "There is
no open season for hunting swans in Ontario. Thanks for letting us know
about the situation, we will monitor the area more closely." He also
has requested that he be contacted if anyone witnesses this type of activity
in the future. I have listed Mr. Chow's contact information below, if
you see anyone hunting swans please contact his office.
