Update 9:30am - Weather has turned sunny and beautiful

FLOATING DEBRIS
Needless to say, we have had our share of rain and thunderstorms these past few weeks, many neighboring communities have flooded as a result of these weather conditions which has caused considerable damage. Perhaps an aftermath of these conditions was a large tree approximately 60 ft in length, with roots intact, floating down the North Channel and past the ferry late this afternoon. One has to wonder where and how far it came. Click photos to enlarge.

CLAY TOWNSHIP CANDIDATES

Current Clay Township Supervisor Joe McKoan IV will not seek re-election this November, three Republican candidates have filed for the position and hope to win the August primary for the spot on the November ballot. The candidates are Mark Pyszora, Sr., and former Supervisors, Jon Manos and Thomas Kruger. Since there are no Democrats running for Supervisor, the Republican Candidate who wins the August primary and a spot on the November ballot will ultimately become the new Clay Township Supervisor.

Current Clay Township Clerk Mike Pellerito has no oppostion on the ballot for his position and Clay Township Treasurer Connie Turner also will be running unopposed.

All of the Clay Township Trustee's positions (4) are open. Trustee's Beth Engel and Cindy Kirkpatrick will not seek re-election. Republicans Pat Sharrow and Leonard Kasperowicz will seek re-election and run against Republicans John Makuch, Kevin Allen, James Praught (Both Kevin and James are Harsens Island Residents), Dave Dare and Jay DeBoyer for a spot on the November Ballot. One Democrat, Bryan Kirkpatrick, seeking election as Trustee, already has a spot on the November ballot as he is the only Democrat.

Don't forget to Get out and VOTE !
