PHOTOS FROM 4TH OF JULY WEEKEND

The 4th of July weekend was enjoyed by all, the Algonac fireworks were spectacular as usual. The Pickerel Tournament was also a success and the parade was awesome, the Harsens Island Fire Department joined in with their truck and new airboat, with some kids thrown in as well. We tried to get a photo of the Pickerel Queen and her court, unfortunately it started raining and the Queen float was empty (the girls were inside an SUV at this point), Sorry Missy, tried to catch you. HARSENSISLAND.COM PHOTO CONTEST

Harsensisland.com is sponsoring a monthly photo contest which began July 1st. Submit your Harsens Island photo (information provided below) by July 15th, it will be displayed and voted upon by our readers, there will be a First Place winner, Second Place winner and an honorable mention. Winners will be announced by July 30th and will receive prizes of $25.00 for 1st place and $10.00 for 2nd place as well as being displayed on the harsensisland.com website throughout the summer.

Any photos submitted after July 15th will be included in the August Contest, all August entries must be submitted by August 15th.

The Harsensisland.com website averages hundreds of visits per day, if you are an amateur photographer, this is the place to have your photos viewed, if you're just submitting your photo for the heck of it, it's a great place to send your family and friends to view your pics.

Harsens Island is the place to capture beautiful photos, sunsets, nature, kids, pets, families, local events, etc. PLEASE keep your photos to a G rating, any photos submitted which are not appropriate in nature will obviously be disqualified.

Here are the rules:
You must be the owner of the photo or have expressed permission to submit the photo into the contest.

Photos may be color or black and white.

Photos can be submitted either by postal mail or email.

Postal Mail: Photos will be scanned and uploaded by the harsensisland.com staff, photo quality may be diminished by this method.
Mail to: HarsensIsland.Com, P.O. Box 54, Harsens Island, MI 48028
Include: Name, Address, Phone Number, and description of photograph, i.e., location, date, subjects, events, etc.

EMAIL: Email all photos to scoop@harsensisland.com. Photos MUST be in either a jpeg or gif format no larger than 800 by 600 pixels. Please include reply email address, name and phone number, as well as a description of the photograph, i.e., location, date, subjects, events, etc. Photos submitted in a format other than jpeg or gif will not be submitted.
